Life on the road as a professional golfer is not easy. Each week includes gruelling travel, demanding practice sessions and fierce competition. Strathmore’s Dustin Risdon knows this as well as anyone. With support from ATB Investor Services, Risdon is now in his ninth season as a touring pro and second on the U.S. Nationwide Tour, considered the prime breeding ground for tomorrow’s stars on the PGA Tour.
While he continues to fight for his PGA Tour card – finishing among the Nationwide’s top 25 money earners would earn him that honour – Risdon hasn’t forgotten his roots. The 29-year-old returned to his home province to compete in the 2010 ATB Financial Classic. After a slow start to the tournament, Risdon climbed his way up the leaderboard. By Sunday afternoon, he was the ATB Financial Classic champion for the second time in three years.
