4-H Clubs in Alberta

When ATB Financial combined star power and horsepower, the result was an unforgettable fundraising concert for an all-Alberta cause. ATB, a long-time supporter of 4-H clubs in Alberta, teamed up with Lacombe country music star and 4-H alum Gord Bamford to raise money and awareness for the 90-year-old youth organization.

How did we do it? The “Why 4-H is Great” contest asked ATB branches across the province to show a panel of judges how much 4-H means to their communities. The winning branch would earn its community a Gord Bamford concert with all proceeds raised going to local 4-H clubs.

Ten outstanding and creative entries were submitted, with the winning video entry coming from our Fort Macleod branch. Fort Macleod had a horse come right into the branch and trot up to the teller window, an approach that ultimately won over the contest’s judges.

As an added bonus, not only did Gord perform a sold-out show at Fort Macleod’s historic Empress Theatre, he also participated in a mentoring/autograph session for young 4-H members.
