ATB Financial’s Edmonton-area branches have been on a mission this hockey season: to search for the Ultimate Oilers Fan. ATB customers from across the region were called upon to write essays explaining why they are the ultimate Oilers fan. The results are in! Here are excerpts from our two winning essays:
Jodi Carter, Stony Plain
Being an Oilers fan means time together. We are a family of five and watching games at home on TV are a frequent night together. Being an Oilers fan means style. Our children’s family pictures were taken with their jerseys on, a blue one and two pink ones – the smallest wearing her first jersey at age six months. Being an Oilers fan means memories. We have amazing memories of travelling to Edmonton, Phoenix, Vancouver and Calgary to watch our team win, lose or tie.
Elizabeth Routledge, Edmonton
My husband and I are the ultimate Oilers fans and will continue to be, even when the Oilers aren’t doing so well, because that’s when they need their ultimate fans the most.
