Dave on the Fringe

We've sent our President & CEO Dave Mowat to the 34th annual Edmonton International Fringe Festival to review a few plays. Check out his reviews here over the next few days as they come in.

Assassins

Assassins
Book by John Weidman with music & lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.

Directed by Amber Bissonnette and starring Nancy McAlear, Billy Brown, Chris W. Cook, Jacob Holloway, Emma Houghton, Maxwell Lebeuf, Jeff Page, Larissa Pohoreski, Dan Rowley, Scott Shpley and Rory Turner, Assassins is one of more than 200 shows in the 2015 Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival presented by ATB Financial. This musical has been given 4/5 stars from both the Edmonton Journal and the Edmonton Sun. We sent ATB President & CEO Dave Mowat to watch the show--because he doesn’t just review oil and gas royalties.

His take: “Who’d have thought that American history would show us all the assassins of American presidents, set to a musical. Eerie when they get to the book depository—worthwhile seeing if only to remember how many U.S. presidents have been targets.”

God is a Scottish Drag Queen III

God is a Scottish Drag Queen III
Written and starring Mike Delamont.
(Held over - August 26 & 27)

God is a Scottish Drag Queen is a one (wo)man show at the 2015 Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival presented by ATB Financial. The third iteration of this Fringe regular has been given a glowing 5 stars from both the Edmonton Journal and the Edmonton Sun. We sent ATB President & CEO Dave Mowat to watch the show—because reviews of all kinds are his forte!

His take: “Scottish Drag Queen the 3rd is hilarious, Learn God's views on US gun control, TV evangelists and much more. An added bonus, the Alberta angle—50 Shades of Hay.”
