Alberta leaders volunteer at food banks across the province
Each year Teddy for a Toonie reaches new fundraising heights thanks to contributions made by ATB’s associates and customers.
For ATB Financial team members, fundraising for children’s health is not an obligation, but a passion. We are continually amazed by the overwhelming support our campaign receives each year. You don’t have to go far to find someone with a story of how their lives were impacted by the world-class, specialized, care and treatment provided by the Alberta Children’s Hospital and Stollery Children’s Hospital.
In 2015, we set our sights high, setting a goal to raise $1 million. We didn't quite get there, but we came close, raising a record $928,000. The $340,000 raised in southern Alberta goes to the Alberta Children's Hospital's Neuro Critical Care unit and the $588,000 raised in northern Alberta goes to the Stollery Children's Hospital's Operating Room Redevelopment.
"ATB Team members always wow me with their creativity to help Teddy fundraise, and this year was no different," says ATB's Wellington Holbrook, who led this year's campaign. "We saw a dodgeball tournament, a bed race, kick boxing classes, a princess meet and greet, a super hero meet and greet, pancake breakfasts, a dance, bottle drives, golf tournaments, and jail and bail events to just name a few of the awesome events that ATB team members put on across the province. To all of you who made this, and other great activities happen, thank you from the bottom of my heart."
The Teddy for a Toonie campaign, which runs every May, has now raised over $7 million for children's health in Alberta.
